Greenhouse screens provide a protective barrier that reduces the impact of extreme weather conditions by filtering the intensity of the sun’s rays and maintaining an appropriate temperature in protected crops.

The screens installed by Novagric protect the plants from damage and thermal stress and allow correct control of light, temperature and humidity.

These screens, being mobile, can be opened and closed voluntarily according to external weather conditions and the needs of the crop.

Thermal screens

Thermal screens are fabrics made of a combination of polyester fabrics with a thin layer of aluminium interwoven with absorbent acrylic yarn.

They balance the ambient temperature in greenhouses by maintaining optimum levels for the crop.

The system uses solar energy to retain heat in the cooler seasons. This results in significant energy savings.

Advantages of thermal screens

  • Humidity control

  • Brightness control

  • Temperature control

  • Heating fuel savings

  • Lower expenditure on irrigation water

  • Reduction of cryptogamic diseases.

Types of Thermal Screens

  • Indoor screens: for greenhouses, farms, public areas (fairs, restaurants, terraces, etc.). Open, closed or roll-up.

  • Outdoor screens: for crops that need aeration and must be protected from adverse weather conditions. They are also suitable for sports facilities, swimming pools, etc. Open, closed or roll-up.

  • Photoperiod screens: for ceilings and sides.

  • 90 % open-roofed screens: allow you to alternate between the greenhouse and the open air at will.

Energy-saving displays

These are transparent screens designed to retain the maximum amount of heat with minimal loss of illumination. They are ideal for vegetable crop production in colder climates.

There are also energy saving and solar reflective screens, which offer a certain level of shade depending on the model, as they reflect unwanted solar energy away from the crop.

When closed at night, the screens keep the heat in. The higher the aluminium content, the more shade is created and the more energy is saved.

Indoor shading screens

These screens are used to regulate the amount of sunlight entering the greenhouse and to protect crops from excess light and heat. They consist of a polyester film strip, aluminium strips (+90% solar reflecting capacity) and filaments for fastening the structure.

The number of aluminium strips determines the shading efficiency and the ventilation capacity of the screen, as warm air flows through the aluminium strips.

Thanks to the shading screens, radiation is reduced and lower temperatures are maintained during the day. During the night, these screens reflect the long-wave radiation from the plants back into the interior, maintaining a pleasantly cool atmosphere.

Outdoor shading screens

They are used to protect crops from high solar radiation, wind and hail. External shading systems can be installed either fixed or retractable. Retractable systems provide mobile shade and can be reinforced.

Insect screens

Pests can be a significant threat to greenhouse crops. Insect screens are an effective solution to keep unwanted insects out of the greenhouse, preventing damage and reducing the need for pesticides.
