NOVAGRIC Projects
Walnut tree Drip Irrigation Project
Walnut is a high value crop with a high growth margin. In Spain, for example, only 30% of the nuts produced are consumed. Throughout the national territory this type of plantations take up about 13,000 hectares in total, but only 8,000 are producing.
One of the reasons of why this happens is that this type of plantation requires a high initial investment, but with a good irrigation system design it is possible to pay it off. That is thanks to the optimal use of water resources and achieve high productivity with the calibre and quality that the market demands.
